QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

WHAT IS PEMF?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. PEMF therapy utilizes a gentle electromagnetic pulse to help restore health at the cellular level. PEMF can be used all over the body, is non-invasive and drug-free. Rubber loops with copper coils enclosed are placed on the body and when the machine is turned on the loops deliver the magnetic pulses. These pulses are able to reach as deep as 16 inches into the body. Often times there will be a visible "throbbing" called fasciculations in the muscle indicating soreness or tightness. What PEMF does best is reduce inflammatory response by normalizing the chemical balance around the cells and sets up the environment for the body to heal itself.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PEMF?

PEMF can help the body with many ailments including: muscle soreness, soft tissue injuries, hoof abscesses, Cushings disease, digestive issues, bone fractures, arthritis, and more. Some benefits of PEMF therapy include: increase in energy, improved performance, pain relief without drugs, decreased inflammation, increased range of motion, increased circulation, improved blood oxygenation, stress reduction and more.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY HORSE RECEIVE A PEMF SESSION?

Every horse requires a different program based on their needs. Horses in moderate work who require simple maintenance can be seen once every 4-6 weeks. For horses in hard work who may be showing or horses going through some sort of recovery may need 1-2 sessions per week. We are committed to helping you find the right plan that works for both the horse and your budget. We offer many packages and occasional deals to try and make our PEMF services accessible to everyone.

DOES PEMF HURT?

No! The pulses can be adjusted to be as strong or as gentle as needed. At first, some horses can be uncomfortable with the stronger pulses but often learn to love the sensation and relax over time to enjoy it.
